Stepping it up a Bit with Timeless Tulips

Timeless Tulip.

Today we are going to ditch the Notecards and go bigger but not that much. We are starting off by getting a sheet of A4 card and you will get 2 card bases out of it.

These are the measurements for using a sheet of A4 down to the topper.

Place sheet of A4 place on you score board with the long side facing down short side at the top of your cutter

score down the long side at 10.6cm or 4 1/4"

With the long side going across the top of the cutter cut at 14.9cm or 5 7/8th". Fold the card with the scoring ridge in the middle of the card and crease with a bone folder for a nice crisp line.

You now have 2 card bases. You can work on one and put the other into a file or work with them both at the same time.

Today we will only be doing the one. The next decision is what to put on the topper and what will the main colour will be. For this card I have chosen Lovely Lipstick. The size of the matt is 14.5cms x 10cms or 5 3/4 x4".    If you want a bit more of the card showing I have cut another 0.5cm off both sizes so we now have 14cm or 5 1/2" x 9.5cms or 3 3/4".

The Stamping

I started off stamping the stems with the long stamps in this set you can shape them any way you like. They will cling to the block so don't worry about it moving. I have angled them like this so I can put a sentiment in the middle of them.

The flower and leaves
There is a punch that comes with this set and if you buy them together you get 10% off. the best way I have been shown is first cut yourself a template from the punch.

Then try and stamp within that template so you can then line them up and cut both together.

This does require a bit of practice and this is the first time I have used a punch alongside a stamp set so my lining up was not good so as it is such an easy outline I stamped them out and cut them by hand. This can be very relaxing made easier with the Stampin' Up scissors they are super sharp and cut to the very end of the blades.

I did not use the leaves as I thought it looked busy enough and adding leaves would have overcrowded the card.

As you can see form this picture I have added Dimensionals to give the flowers a bit of a lift.

I also made a little bow before glues it down to the matt. I like the look of the Tulips just coming off the topper, this is fine but try not to let it overlap the outer side of the card or they will get folded when you put it in the envelope.

Next I added the sentiment which looks a bit faded to go with the Tulips.
