The Next Step, Creating your own DSP (Designer Series Paper)
Making your own DSP is very rewarding and it means if you have run out of the one you bought from me you can go ahead and make your own. It is also great to be able to do this as you can add colour to match your card or you can do it in the person's favourite colour This will be how your card should look like after this blog.
As you can see I have now added a second layer to my card.
Firstly measure the front of your card, the note cards we are using are 3 1/2 by 5 inches. The DSP is slightly smaller for this card and I have cut the DSP card down by 1/4 of an inch to 3 1/4 by 4 3/4. This will give you 1\8th of a border.
Taking the little stamp you used for the front of your envelope mount it onto a block and randomly stamp all over the card in black Memento Ink this is the ink I like to use when using the Blends. When you first start to stamp like this you may find the edges look a bit blank use a piece of scrap paper or as I have use our Silicone Craft Sheet to protect the surface you are working on and stamp off the card. (I usually use scrap paper but I had this out on my workstation when I coloured the front of the first card.)
Now the colouring in
I have used the same colours as I did for the first card. If you like stamping flowers then Old Olive works great for stems and leaves and any other colour you like to use. I am using the same ones so you can see you don't have to buy a whole set at the start of your new Hobby.
I started with the Old Olive Light and did the middle of the flower then took the Light Daffodil Delight the colour the petals.
That is it you have made your first DSP.
Before I glued it in the front of my card I ran around the edge of the card in the Daffodil Delight which i think makes it pop.
We can't stop there, the card looks a bit plain.
These little ones are called Dimensionals and they are used to give a bit of depth to your card.
I have taken one of the saying in the stamp set and stamped it on a piece of 1 by 3 1/4 inches of card. I once again went round the edges in Daffodil Delight to match with the DSP, added the Dimentsonals and placed it at the bottom area of my card. You can place it on the top or middle whichever you prefer
The Finished card
Hope you enjoyed this little tutorial. I will be using this stamp set once more in my next blog.
Thank you for crafting with me.

This is a great idea if you want something for a card in a particular colour. Looking forward to your next blog post. x
